J.D. Stanley III, Public Sector Chief Technology Officer for the Internet Business Solutions Group (IBSG), brings more than 20 years of experience in the information and communications technology (ICT) industry to his role in Cisco’s global consultancy.
Stanley is responsible for championing cross-sector and crossdiscipline disruptive innovations, proof of concepts, prototypes, and business architectures. His research and development experience covers public-sector topics such as sustainability, climate change, urban development, transportation, energy/smart grid, education, defense, and safety and security.
For more than six years, Stanley has focused on applying ICT advances to complex operation environments. He has explored the intersections of cognitive behavior for social networking and decision-making, distributed networks, autonomic systems, and swarming of humans, machines, and sensors. His current projects include Planetary Skin, Connected Urban Development, www.urbanecomap.org, and Dialogue Café.
