Mari McClure

Mari McClure serves as President and CEO of Green Mountain Power (GMP), a leading clean energy provider and certified B Corporation that supplies power to over 75% of Vermont. Under her leadership, GMP has achieved a power supply that is 100% carbon-free and over 80% renewable, with a goal of reaching 100% renewable energy by 2030. In 2023, Mari spearheaded the Zero Outages Initiative, the first of its kind in the nation, aimed at transforming the energy system to make it more resilient, affordable, and reliable during extreme weather and grid events. Her visionary approach has earned GMP recognition as the No. 2 Most Innovative Energy Company globally by *Fast Company* in 2024 and as a nationwide leader in resiliency by the Smart Electric Power Alliance.

Mari’s leadership and innovation have garnered widespread acclaim. She has been featured in *Time Magazine* and *The New York Times* for her efforts to modernize the electric grid and was named one of Business Insider’s Top 100 People Transforming Business in 2021 in the sustainability category. She has also received honors such as the Catherine McAuley Award from Mercy Connections and recognition as a Top 100 Women Impact Leader by *Real Leaders Magazine.* Before becoming CEO in 2020, Mari spent over a decade driving transformational change within GMP and previously worked as a corporate lawyer in Vermont. A graduate of the University at Buffalo School of Law, she was also a standout NCAA Division I basketball player, serving as team captain for two seasons.
