Brad Chadwell

Brad Chadwell joined TVA in 2022 as the director of Enterprise Research and Innovation. He  leads the organization in identifying, promoting, and deploying breakthrough solutions that  support TVA‘s efforts to address complex, cross-organizational challenges and shape the  evolution of the energy system of the future.

Throughout his career, Brad has led innovation of energy-related technologies, drawing upon  his development and commercialization experience, alliance building and portfolio management  skills, and, most importantly, a passion to create possibilities in the energy industry. At American  Electric Power, Brad served as manager of Innovation and Technology, where he coached  teams in innovation process including ideation, incubation, refinement, and commercialization.  Earlier in Brad’s career, he worked with Battelle in various research and business development  roles including start-up and new technology ventures, spanning bioenergy, renewable fuels,  hydrogen, fuel cells, carbon capture, energy efficiency, and demand response.

Brad earned an MBA from Ohio State University and a bachelor’s degree in chemical  engineering from Purdue University. He is a registered Professional Engineer, a certified Project  Management Professional, and a named inventor on 16 U.S. patents.
