Jason is the General Manager of Bright Canyon Energy (BCE), a developer, owner and long- term operator of energy infrastructure. Jason also serves as President of TransCanyon LLC, a joint venture with BHE U.S. Transmission. In these roles, Jason leads BCE’s business focused on developing electric transmission, microgrid, renewable and energy storage infrastructure for its customers.
Prior to these roles, Jason served as Director of Strategic Planning and Corporate Development at PNW and Director of Renewable Initiatives at APS. In these positions, he led PNW’s strategic planning efforts that resulted in a commitment to provide 100% clean electricity to customers by 2050, led the formation of BCE to pursue development of microgrid, renewable and energy storage infrastructure and TransCanyon, a joint venture between BCE and BHE U.S. Transmission, to pursue development of electric transmission infrastructure. He launched AZ Sun, one of the first programs in the nation focused on utility ownership of utility-scale solar generation, through which APS has now developed, built, owns and operates over 225MW of utility-scale solar generation. He also successfully led the design and implementation of PNW’s company-wide metrics-based business planning process.
Prior to joining the PNW family of companies, Jason was a Vice President in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman, Sachs & Co. focused on the energy industry. His clients included electric and gas utilities, independent power producers, and wind, solar, geothermal, smart grid and biofuels companies. While at Goldman Sachs, he raised $14.2 billion in financing proceeds and advised on successful acquisitions and divestitures worth $16.7 billion for his clients.
Jason holds a Master in Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Southern California.
