George is part of Siemens Grid Software, where he manages U.S. customer co-innovation outreach and business development activities for the Global Next Generation Grid Management team. In his current role, George works with customers and Siemens’ software product management and software R&D teams to develop software products for the utility industry. Prior to joining this team, George was worked in business development for the Siemens U.S. Digital Grid business unit.
George is a 30+ year veteran utility industry leader and advisory services consultant with 15 years’ experience with developing smart grid strategy and shared services operating models. Prior to joining Siemens, George served American Municipal Power as their Owner’s Engineer and Project Manager, where he led the development of a shared services advanced metering solution for AMP’s municipal utility members. While at Ernst&Young’s Power and Utilities practice, he advised clients in T&D, IT Transformation and Regulatory matters. During his 29-year career at American Electric Power, he held leadership positions in Distribution, Customer Operations, and IT/Telecommunications, including leading the development of AEP’s gridSMART strategy. He has been an active participant in the national smart grid dialogue, including EPRI and NIST’s SGIP.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Youngstown State University and an MBA in finance and strategy from The Ohio State University.
