Ms. Effinger has over twenty years of experience in the energy industry and is an experienced engineer and research manager, combining technical expertise with a keen business acumen to conduct applied research to inform strategy, program design, and decision making for her clients. Most recently, she has focused on product development, designing utility codes and standards programs in multiple states, an Energy Plus Health pilot, and developed a residential energy efficiency roadmap including a list of potential new programs for a utility in the Southwest. She recently completed a project for a private client to conduct due diligence research for an acquisition of an energy efficiency company. Ms. Effinger has led multiple cross-functional teams on topics such as market characterizations, load shape research, advanced lighting controls, energy storage, microgrids, Energy Management and Information Systems (EMIS), measurement and verification, plug loads, emerging technologies, data center energy efficiency, benchmarking, commissioning measures and integrated demand side management (IDSM). She has worked on all sides of the house: at a utility, an implementation company, and an evaluation company. Her deep understanding of the energy market, utilities, technology, and business gives her a breadth of experience that is invaluable to her clients. She holds a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from U.C. Irvine and a M.B.A from Texas A&M University.
